Successful people tend to be hyper competitive and upwardly mobile and ambitious, which means that they are constantly comparing themselves to people who are even more successful. There is plenty of research out there that shows that this type of comparison leads to unhappiness. No matter how much you succeed, there’ll always be someone else who’s done better. Successful and/or ambitious people need to learn to understand success in a healthy way.

I paused, wondered, questioning the unknown hidden in you. Then finally, the reality manifested when the curtain opened: it was a person whose blood was of a dancer, actions of a positutue, vanity of a fascist, sanity of an animal… Hold, hold, know no more, for it carries a heavy burden, and no one will carry it but you, and now I regret knowing for rest of my life.
